Baby room
Our baby room offers care for babies from 6 months of age. We offer a warm and comforting space for babies with the most caring staff.
We can cater for up to 8 children in this room, 3 under the age of 1 and 5 over the age of one. This gives us plenty of room to give your child the individual attention that helps create a more secure environment for your baby. Every baby that comes through our doors are warmly welcomed and loved. We know how hard it is to pass over your child over each day so we endeavour to ensure to create an environment you can trust. We give your baby a routine that means they can get the best experience in our setting possible.
We only take babies on a full day basis as this ensures the best experience for your child.
Toddler room
Our toddler room offers care for the toddlers that have graduated from our baby room, the age in this room can differ depending on the child. This is an exciting room as it is the first time children start to play together and start to form friendships.
We can cater for up to 12 children in this room. Children are given regular play times and rest times with free play being promoted as this works with the toddler’s love of exploring and thinking. Here we introduce simple songs and stories as these introduce speech patterns. Each toddler that comes through our doors will be encouraged to be curious. We care for all the toddlers as if they are our own so you can have complete trust in our service. We use a communication app which updates you with details of their meals, naps, nappy changes and activities.
Once your child moves into the Toddler Room, it is generally time to start thinking about toilet training. Our staff have years of experience in this area and are happy to talk to parents, to offer advice, guidance and support. So, whenever your child is ready to get started, we will work with you.
Little Star’s Room
Our Little Star’s Room is our Junior Pre-School room. This is a room where your child can avail of the ECCE scheme, which offers 3 hours a day of free childcare to children aged from 2 years and 8 months. Our Little Star’s room is the room in which your child will start more structured activities. In this room we do offer the ECCE scheme of 38 weeks but we also provide Full Day Care for 51 weeks of the year.
In our Little Star’s room we start to encourage independence, we also introduce structured learning through play, so we start to get ready for National School. We also introduce appreciate language, and your child will start to learn new words and concepts.
In the Little Star’s Room, each child brings their own morning snack. We use the communication app here to inform you of activities your child has enjoyed throughout the day.
Big Star’s Room
Our Big Star’s Room continues on from our Little Star’s room and grows and adds to everything they learnt in the junior pre-school room. In this room we do offer the ECCE scheme of 38 weeks but we also provide Full Day Care for 51 weeks of the year. This is a room where your child can avail of the ECCE scheme, which offers 3 hours a day of free childcare to children aged from 2 years and 8 months. Some children join our Big Star’s room for both of their ECCE years and we also have children that only join for one year of ECCE.
In our Big Star’s room we continue to encourage independence, we also continue to improve on our structured learning through play, so we start to get ready for National School. We continue to introduce appreciate language, and your child will start to learn new words and concepts.
In the Big Star’s Room, each child brings their own morning snack. We use the communication app here to inform you of activities your child has enjoyed throughout the day.
After-School Club
Our Afterschool club caters for School Age children, we offer breakfast from 8am to 8.45am that includes cereal and toast. We then have play time before we head to school. The children that attend our centre and attend Glinsk National School can avail of our own transportation on our mini bus and be brought to school from our centre. We then collect children at 2pm and 3pm from Glinsk National School. The children have the opportunity to complete their written homework in a quiet and relaxed space. We then provide a hot meal at 3.15pm for all the children.
We also offer a hour wrap-around service to Glinsk National school to have children collected and 2pm and brought back to the school at 3pm for their older siblings or to go onto the school transport.
Children that do not attend Glinsk National School can avail of this service but need to provide their own transport.
We also provide Full Day Care during the holidays for this age group.
Our Sensory Room
Our sensory room is used by all age groups that attend our centre, we have some magical sensory resources in this room, including a projector that shines colours and shapes on the wall. We have optical lights and other small sensory toys.
We are so lucky to have this in our centre and all the children love to visit this room.
